We're running two fully indoor sessions at #HawkerHouse, one from noon till 5pm (great for everyone) and one 6pm till 2am (great for grown ups).
Expect festive and offbeat twists on all your favourite street foods from some of Gizzi’s favourite traders, including B.O.B.'s Lobster, Breddos, Luardos, Rola Wala, Slider Bar, SmokeStak, Sorbitium and Yum Bun.
But there’s a lot more to #TwistedChristmas than delicious street food. If you came to Gizzi’s Barn Yard Party or Street Fiesta you’ll know what to expect - dressing up, dancing, eating, drinking and rock ’n’ roll.
Gizzi’s lined up go go girls The Meyer Dancers, a transvestite choir, a Christmas Gift Shop (hawking homemade stocking fillers from top London chefs), a meat raffle from Turner & George, a Rumbola for all your Christmas booze needs, burlesque performances from Fancy Chance, brilliant DJs and a gang of drag queen Santas.
Take home to the family little bags of cantuccini by Tom Oldroyd of Polpo, rich turkey butter from Plateau restaurant’s Allan Pickett; Sicilian orange and mandarin marmalade by Lukas Pfaff of Sartoria restaurant in Mayfair; and indulgent amaretto chocolate truffles and chocolate and walnut studded cookies by David Philpott from Paternoster Chop House.
Tickets to the day session are £10 each, which includes a glass of fizz from Street Vin and a bottle of Moretti La Rossa (a rich, deep amber beer from Italy with caramel sweetness and a hoppy finish - perfect for this time of year). The longer, rowdier, vibier evening session will cost you a fiver more and includes a glass of fizz, a bottle of Moretti La Rossa and a hot cocktail/hot wine. #TwistedChristmas is free entry for children under 16, so bring the kids along and make a day of it.
Eventbrite has agreed to waive its booking fee for this event so instead we're asking you to donate £1 from every ticket purchased to Street Smart, an organisation which raises hundreds of thousands of pounds each year for homeless charities across the UK. We're hoping this donation (plus the profits from the meat raffle and rumbola) will help us reach our £5,000 goal. With support from a few key sponsors, we may be able to double it. For more info on Street Smart click here.
That’s it for now. See you in a couple of weeks - I’ll be the one in the Santa hat, stockings and eye shadow.
